Spring Fashion Wishlist

So here's something a little different for me I hope you guys like this post! I love this time of year when all the spring fashion starts making an appearance in shops, although at the same time I guess it's a little depressing that we can't wear most of it in this country! However we're approaching March which must mean better weather is on the horizon, right? I thought I'd run through all the items I've spotted online which would be perfect for the upcoming season.

Full length dress: This is actually from Primark, I just fell in love with this one! I love that the colour is somewhere in between orange and red, and I love the sheer part at the bottom of the skirt. You could dress this up or down, personally I'd throw on a slouchy knit over the top to turn it a little more casual!

Little Black Dress: Now we all know you can't go wrong with a little black dress, and there's something a bit different about this Topshop one. The shape is really flattering and that dropped waist  is going to be big in spring/summer. I like that this dress is incorporating that trend but you still get an actual waist at the same time!

Red Stripe Print Dress: This Topshop dress is such a different shape to what we're use to and I really like it. I think this could be a really flattering dress on someone who is not totally comfortable with wearing something that would usually accentuate their waist.

Palm Print Matching Top and Skirt: This is another trent which is going to be huge this season, the matching separates. I think this palm print from Primark is so cute. The top and skirt look great together as a statement look, or wear them separately for a more muted but stylish ensemble.

Striped Tunic: Stripes are never going to go out of fashion and this tunic from Topshop is the perfect way to take this trend from winter to spring. Wear this with tights or even skinny jeans and a jacket in the last of these winter weeks and come spring wear with nothing but cute ballet pumps. Okay you might still need tights here in the uk.

Mint Green Jacket: So pastels look like they're here to stay, and I'm glad. Just by switching your old black jacket to this pastel mint one from Topshop you'll completely freshen up your look in one easy step. Your Welcome.

Grey Crop Top: So the crop might not be for everyone but hear me out. I wouldn't wear this with low cut jeans and trainers a la Britney, no no no. I'd wear this with a high waisted pencil skirt and a blazer turning a top with could be quite casual into something which is going to make your outfit really stand out and accentuate your waist at the same time! This crop is from Topshop.

Floral Striped Dress: So I remember this style of print coming in a couple of years ago, where the flowers usually roses were layered over stripes. I remember thinking it looked really cheap, like they had just layered two prints to make a new one?! But here Topshop have nailed it, I love this print now! It's so striking and I love the green and the blue together. This may be heading to my basket…

Grey Lace Jumper: I think this is the perfect jumper for taking into Spring. It's still going to keep you warm but the lace panels add an extra summin' summin'. I love the light grey tone of this Warehouse knit and think it would look amazing with some skinny jeans and bright pointed heels!

I hope you liked this fashion related post for a change and hope it's given you some inspiration for the upcoming season. I can't believe it's nearly March already, where is this year going!? I'd love to know your top picks for going from Winter to Spring!

Little Beauty Haul

So here is a little haul for you of all the things I've picked up over the last few weeks. I must admit I'm not buying an awful lot of beauty related things at the moment as I'm moving house at the end of the month and spending my time buying home things, which I love and also trying to save as much money as possible! I'm sure there will be a home haul coming soon too!

I've been having some issues with my hair recently, I've had a dip-dye for about a year but I just got fed up with it so I dyed my hair a dark brown which is actually my natural colour. As a result of all this messing and dying my hair hasn't been feeling it's best so I wanted to find some products to liven it up and make it look a little healthier. Firstly I stumbled across the Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray which is supposed to be a really good dupe for the famous Oribe Dry Texturising Spray and about a quarter of the price! Next I picked up the Toni & Guy Classic Shine Gloss Serum, which will hopefully just tame down the ends of my hair and de-frizz. When I bought this I actually didn't realise that your suppose to use this on dry hair, I just assumed it was for when your hair is wet so I'll have to see how it goes with this one!

I wanted to pick up a new lip colour for going into the spring with and I've been wanting to try these Colourburst Matte Balms from Revlon for ages. I picked up the colour 'Elusive' as I though it was a really pretty colour and perfect for the spring time.

Next I had to go to Lush as I had completely ran out of all my Lush products, and I can't be without something for my bath time! I actually went in looking for a soap to put in the bathroom of our new house. I must have picked up and smelt every one which was there and this one was my favourite, it's the Sea Vegetable soap. The sales assistant kindly cut it in half for me so I can keep one in the bathroom and one in the downstairs loo! I always think it's such a god idea to get them to cut up the soap for you as it makes your purchase last longer.

Now I couldn't go into Lush without getting a bath bomb so I picked up this one called Space Girl which I haven't tried before so I can't wait to use this in my bath!

Thats everything beauty related I've bought recently and I'm sure everything mentioned will end up in a review or some kind of post on here soon! Also look out for my homeware post which I will definitely do when we move! I hope you guys like this haul style post and also please feel free to let me know if there are any particular posts you would like to see on here! x

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb

I feel like I haven't done a Lush related post in a while so here's a new one! I've actually completely used up all of my Lush products at the moment, I know panic! I think I'll be making a trip to my local Lush store very soon to stock up so look out for a haul coming soon! Also just a quick apology for the lesser quality photos in this post, they were taken on my iPhone as I couldn't find my camera at the time, FAIL!

So this is the Blackberry Bath Bomb, I have to admit I've always thought this was called the 'Blueberry' Bath Bomb just because of the colour. It wasn't until I took one home I realised it was actually Blackberry, oops! I really like the colour of this bomb, it actually turns your bath more of a purple (like a blackberry!) instead of the blue colour of the coating. This one smells so good too, and as a result of that it makes your bath smell amazing! It's one of those bombs that doesn't hang around for long once you drop it into the water. It fizzes straight away and really really fast!

As you can sees from the photos your bath turns a lovely purple colour and you can feel the moisture instantly (you know when you rub your legs together whilst in the bath and they feel all moisturised?! Well you get that!). This bath bomb is actually supposed to help with anxiety, I can't really comment on this as I don't suffer with it myself but would love to hear from anyone who does and has tried this? Apparently the frankincense and bergamot oils will help you think straight. Bergamot oil is used in aromatherapy for anxiety, depression and nervous tension and is apparently antibacterial as well. I'm not sure about this but love to think that it works! You also get a little surprise message in the middle of this bomb which I definitely wasn't expecting!

Have you tried the Blackberry Bath Bomb before? Let me know what you think! Also what should I buy on my next Lush shopping trip, I'm completely out of products so could do with lots of recommendations! x

Review | Soap & Glory Scrubatomic

So you might have noticed by now that I'm all over the Soap and Glory bath and body range, but my love for the brand doesn't stop there, oh no. Cue skincare! I have only just started dabbling into the range but I must say I have been pleasantly surprised so far. I don't think their skincare range gets as much hype as it deserves.

This is the Surubatomic, great name right? And as the name suggests this is a daily scrub for your face. I picked this up because it states it's 'for all skin types' which made me think that it would be okay for sensitive skin. I don't usually use a face scrub, I think they're sometimes a little harsh. Also I've usually got a few blemishes on the go and I don't want to risk spreading them around which can happen with a scrub like this. Thankfully my spots did clear up but I was left with uneven, dry skin especially around my mouth and chin. Using just a little of this two or three times a week has definitely helped to smooth everything out.

This is a very abrasive scrub which is why I only use a little and only on the places I really need it. It has a lovely peachy scent which I love, it leaves you skin smelling amazing! It also cleans off easily, I have found some scrubs in the past just don't wash off well and end up irritating your skin trying to get rid of it! It really does leave your skin feeling super smooth. It's full of AHA fruit smoothers- a blend of bilberry, sugarcane, orange and lemon which claim to dissolve the glue which keeps dead skin stuck to your cells, clever! And it also boasts peach and goji berry extracts which are rich of antioxidants and vitamins A and C. This is definitely a welcome product into my skincare routine, but just when I feel my skin needs it.

I can't wait to try out some more products from the Soap and Glory skincare range! Anything you think I should try? x

Review | Arbonne It's A Long Story Mascara

I always say that Arbonne is the beauty industries best kept secret. I know that people have lots of different opinions on how the company works, some think it's a scam and some think it's the best thing since sliced bread. But whatever your opinion you can't argue with the fact the products are just darn good!

This is one of their two mascaras on offer, the 'It's a Long Story Mascara'. I really like the name and the packaging is really sleek too. The wand is amazing, it's super flexible enabling you to get to those tricky to reach lashes. The actual formula leaves you with luscious long lashes with no clumps in sight, hurrah! Theres nothing worse than finding a wonderfully volumising mascara to find that it leaves you with big black clumps or it sticks your lashes together. I can happily say that the brush combs through the hairs so there is no sticking!

No Mascara:

One coat:

Two coats:

As you can see from the images above it certainly did it's job, and some! The only down side was that there was a little smudging below the lower lashes at the end of the day. However I am a 'smudgy' person and I must say the only mascara that I can count on not to leave me resembling a panda is my Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara!

Have you tried this mascara before? What are your thoughts on Arbonne? X

Products I've Used Up #1

So here is my first empties post for you guys! Most of these products have been used up over the winter  months and Christmas. I think I'm going to keep these types of post short and sweet, as some of the products I would have reviewed already and I really don't want to bore you! Here goes...

Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves: This was a sample from a Glossybox, I'd been waiting to use this for a while as I had a salt spray on the go! This is a texturising spray designed to give you those 'just back from the beach' waves. I really liked this product, it didn't make my hair go 'crunchy' like some of these sprays do. However at £23 for a full sized bottle I don't think I'll be purchasing this, it was nice to try the trial size though!

Lush Cupcake Mask: I love this mask. It calms sensitive skin and helps reduce blemishes which was just what my skin needed after the festive season. I love how refreshing it feels on your face and it smells like chocolate which is always a plus!

Caudalie Devine Oil: This has become somewhat of a cult product in the beauty world. I really enjoyed using this oil, I love that it's multi-use as well. I use this on my face as a moisturising treat and I also used a drop in the bath. However my favourite use for this was in my hair, just a tiny bit at the ends, it did wonders!

Alpha H Liquid Gold: This is another one of those cult products that bloggers have gone crazy for. However for me it just didn't work. I had high hopes of waking up each morning with clear skin but unfortunately it didn't happen. I think that this product probably works differently on different people and I wasn't one of the lucky ones!

La Roche Posay Effeclar Duo: This is another popular product in the blogging world. I have loved this treatment for a long time and it has worked wonders for my skin in the past. Click here for my full review. However recently my blemishes must have been a different sort, or maybe my skin was just becoming immune to the stuff but it stopped working for me (sad face). La Roche Posay have recently released an updated version so hopefully this new one will renew my love for the product!

What have you used up this month? Have you tried any of my empty products? x

Review | Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon

I love wearing a bright lip, I think it can totally change your look whether it's from day to night or from dull to ta-dah! The Revlon Lip Butters are one of my favourites from the high street, they are somewhere between a lipstick and a lip balm and are packed full of colour. They offer you the feel and colour of a lipstick but with the moisture of a balm so they don't dry your lips out like some products do. The range offers a beautiful choice of colours but this shade which is cutely named 'Macaroon' is one of my most used.

There are two ways I like to wear my Macaroon lip butter. The first way is just applying a little with my finger and then blending it in, just leaving you with a gentle wash of colour. This is shown above in the first image. This is a really quick and easy way to wear it and perfect if your on the go all day and don't have time to get a mirror and neatly re-apply! The second way I apply is straight from the bullet or with a lip brush if I have time. This gives you a really bold lip as the lip butters are actually quite thick, you'd be surprised! This is shown in the second image. There's not a huge difference but it's nice to have the option of really building up the colour. They are really long lasting too and I don't find they budge of your lips at all!

I love these Lip Butters from Revlon and I'm building up my collection slowly! Have you tried them before? What colours do you have and recommend for me to try?! x

Revlon Lip Butters are £7.99

Top Online Beauty Shopping

When it comes to beauty shopping I must admit I do the majority of it online. Living in Cornwall isn't ideal when your looking for something different when it comes to make up and skincare, so there are a few sites that I turn to when in need of my new product fix! So ladies, I would hide your credit cards before you continue reading!

Feel Unique www.feelunique.com
Probably one of the most popular amongst us beauty lovers and for good reason. They're always on top of the game when it comes to new releases, most recently with Tanya Burr's debut make up collection which I'm dying to try! Everything always seems to be that little bit cheaper here too, together with their free delivery you can't really go wrong.

On my wish list: Everything from Tanya's new range, OPI Brazil Collection, Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan Mouse.

This site is always at the top of the beauty game. They offer a hand picked selection of all the most sought after products from all around the world which are often hard to track down elsewhere. At the moment they have a 'The best of the US' section featuring an array of the most loved products from across the pond. I have my eye on the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products! I also love that when you place your order you get to choose from different samples, in my last order I chose to sample the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint which I fell in love with.

On my wish list: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, Jouer Blushing Beauty Collection, Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti Blemish Masque

Escentual www.escentual.com
This is the place to go for those hard to find French beauty finds. This is the site that brought Bioderma to the UK. Thank you Escentual! They often have a third off French products too which is when I stock up on my Bioderma and La Roche Posay products. Of course they do loads of other brands too, including great make up, Daniel Sandler and Dior products in particular!

On my wish list: Dior Rosy Glow Blush, La Roche Posay Tolariane Fluide, Daniel Sandler Radient Sheen Illuminating Face Powder

Space NK uk.spacenk.com
With my nearest store being Bristol even though the online delivery is a slightly steep £5 it's still cheaper than the petrol! Space NK is just one of those stores that screams luxury, they have the most lovely collection of products in store and online. I always shop in their sale, there are normally some amazing bargains to be had!

On my wish list: REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream, Diptyque Eau Duelle Eau De Toilette, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

Debenhams www.debenhams.com
So we do have one Debenhams in Cornwall, but it's not the largest. I love the website as they quite often have 10% off their beauty department. This is when I usually buy my Mac products as my nearest Mac store is also quite a distance! They often have free delivery too so keep a look out!

On my wish list: Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Soft and Gentle, Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, benefit Lollitint

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints

I've been loving a gel look on my nails recently, especially after using my Sensationail kit. I thought I'd try to find some high street, more affordable alternatives. Top of my list are these Gelly Hi-Shine Paints from Barry M. These have been out for a while now and they have a variety of lovely shades which we now come to expect from this brand! I picked up the shade Blueberry, which you can probably guess is the er..blue coloured one, and the shade Papaya, which is a lovely coral hue.

I decided to use Blueberry, I think this might be my new favourite nail varnish colour. It's such a different blue to what you normally find, in one light it looks blue but in a slightly different light it can almost look purple. These are so pigmented and you can get away with just one coat. They also have a high shine finish to them meaning you could skip the top coat if you wanted. So these nail paints are perfect if your in a hurry, one coat and your good to go! I also find that gel affect varnishes have a slightly longer lasting power, they're slightly thicker than the average polish meaning that you may get an extra day or two out of your mani.

These are fast becoming my favourite affordable nail varnishes, have you tried the Barry M Gelly Paints yet? Which are your favourite colours?! x

January Favourites 2014

I can't believe we're now in February, where did that last month go! I also can't believe that my little blog is nearly two months old now, and I want to thank everyone who has followed, left a comment and generally shown love towards it, it really means a lot so thank you! So with that said lets commence with my January favourites...

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm: I bought this cleanser in the sales just after Christmas after wanting it for a long time! I'm so glad I bought this, it's hands down the best cleanser I've used. See my full review here.

Mac Satin Taupe eyeshadow: I've fallen back in love with this shade this month, it's always been one of my favourites and it's such an easy shade to wear. This month I've been wearing this blended all over the lid.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation: I go through stages of wearing different foundations and this month I've rediscovered my love for this one. I forgot how good the coverage was and I love the healthy glow it gives you. This is definitely one of my high street favourite foundations.

Soap and Glory Hand Food: My hands have been so dry this month and this is what I've been reaching for. I've actually been loving a lot of Soap and Glory products but this has been my favourite. Hand Food leaves your hands feeling silky soft and smelling A-mazing!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: I need a little help in the winter when it comes to my pale complexion. I've been going for a little bit of fake tan on the body and topping my face up with this. I love this bronzer it's probably one of my favourite Benefit Products, and it's a really good shade for pale skin.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 03: After my Christmas flings with bright red shades I've been all about the nude lips this January, and this lipstick is the perfect nude for me. It's neutral balance of brown and pink tones creates the perfect shade.

Waxperts Ingrown Hair Pads: These were a new discovery for me this month and I'm most definitely hooked! Not only have they been a savour for any post waxing ingrowns but a lovely lady from Waxperts told me that I could use them on my face to target breakouts. They've only gone and worked! So now my skin is looking so much better, thank you Waxperts again! I did a full review here.

So there are my favourite products this month, I wonder what I'm going to be loving this time next month and if i'll make any new discoveries!

What have been your favourites this month? Let me know in the comments! x
