Visiting Venice

Beautiful buildings, winding canals and getting lost...yep we’ve just been to Venice! Mike and I have just returned from a two week road trip around beautiful Italy and Venice was our very first stop.

I’d heard very mixed reviews about Venice, ‘it’s very touristy’, ‘it’s always too busy’, ‘it smells’, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations, well I was SO wrong! Venice is beautiful, charming, and just smells of really great food everywhere!!

We didn’t have a plan at all, we just let our senses guide us around the maze of canals and alleyways, stopping every now and then to take a photo or eat gelato. Venice is amazing in the way that one minute you can be in a crowd of people feeling like a sardine, then you can turn a corner, everyone disappears and you feel like you have the city to yourself.

Snow Day

Cornwall in the snow is not something you see every day, not even every year, try every 10 years maybe! So it had to be documented. There’s something somewhat magical about the snow, maybe it’s the silence of the roads, the gentle flutter of the snowflakes falling or the fact that the village turned into a scene out of the holiday!

I’m glad we got to experience a bit of the magic, but I’m also glad that it only lasted for around 12 hours, I’m so ready for spring to arrive now! Wouldn’t it have been lovely at Christmas though? Here’s hoping for next year!
