Beautiful buildings, winding canals and getting lost...yep we’ve just been to Venice! I’ve just returned from a two week road trip around beautiful Italy and Venice was our very first stop.

I’d heard very mixed reviews about Venice, ‘it’s very touristy’, ‘it’s always too busy’, ‘it smells’, so I didn’t have hugely high expectations, well I was SO wrong! Venice is beautiful, charming, and just smells of really great food everywhere!!

We didn’t have a plan at all, we just let our senses guide us around the maze of canals and alleyways, stopping every now and then to take a photo or eat gelato. Venice is amazing in the way that one minute you can be in a crowd of people feeling like a sardine, then you can turn a corner, everyone disappears and you feel like you have the city to yourself.
